Pukapuka Track, Hunua Ranges Sunday 30 August 8am
Advanced tramping track, good medium fitness is required!

We start this trip from the Upper Mangatawhiri dam and take a steepish climb up Lilburne road and then on to the Pukapuka track following the ridgeline which will have a fair bit of undulation, tree roots, and mud, and possibly not many views to Pukapuka Pt 470 before dropping down to a campsite on ARA Drive and a possible chance to bag the Mangatangi trig, from here it another access road encounter of about 6 k back to the bus. Having never done this track before we can would expect a pretty good work out of about 6 hours and about 17-18 k.
Hint! soft running shoes for the road section and tramping boots for the tramping track should provide maximum comfort for the day.
