Mayor Island/Tuhua Easter 3-6 April 2026
Mayor Island is a wildlife refuge and dormant volcano off the Tauranga coast. This is a unique opportunity to visit a special island in a privately owned and managed marine reserve offshore from the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

Note: This is a weather dependent trip, the final decision during the week leading up to the date is confirmed by the Island and Charter company. In the even the trip is cancelled at this stage, a full refund will be provided*.
Friday 3rd April – Depart 7.00am
Drive Auckland to Tauranga approx. 3 hours (Easter traffic dependent)
Charter boat Tauranga to Mayor Island approx. 2 ½ - 3 hours
Arrive Mayor Island.
Tuhua Camp South East Bay

Saturday 4th
Fit party:
Day walk around the Island 6-8 hours* for fit/experienced party
Back to camp for the night.

Sunday 5th

$320 camping – capacity 4
$320 cabin (bunk) – capacity 10
$365 house (bunk) – capacity 6
Solar shower ablutions block, communal cooking area and bbq hotplate available.
Bring warm clothing, Daylight Savings ends this weekend, and it can get chilly on the island.
There is minimum of 20 people required for this trip to proceed, maximum of 25.
A non-refundable deposit of $60 is payable by 24th December. This deposit covers accommodation and charter boat costs.
To be paid in full no later than 20th March. Trip cost is non-refundable unless in exceptional circumstances; in the event the trip is cancelled due to the weather this will be fully refunded*
