Hakarimata – Waikato Sunday 4th May 2025
This walkway goes along the undulating forested crest of the Hakarimata Range and at the highpoint of 374 metres there is a great view out over the Waikato with Hamilton in the background, and also a summit tower for an even better view.

The distance party will start at Brownlee Ave up to the Summit and along to Parker Rd for pickup. Note this route includes a large, steep stair climb to the top.
The shorter group will stay on while the bus is moved to the Parker Rd pickup end where they will walk in to meet in to meet distance party. Expect some climbing on this track.
There are plenty of native trees including rimu and kauri along the track.
Both parties have the option of taking in the Kauri Loop at the Parker Road end.
