Raglan / Karioi & Pipiwharauroa

Mount Karioi is a day walk that’s a bit too far a stretch for a one-day bus trip, so we have combined this for a casual mini weekend away with a few more options as well.
Saturday: Leave Takapuna pass through Raglan township on way to the Te Toto Gorge lookout. Across the road from the lookout is the start of the Mt Karioi track, this track is classed as an advanced tramping track so it will involve mud, slippery and uneven track conditions as well as a steep hill climb of about 500 meters and about 8 Kilometers 4 to 5 hours, so you will need to be of good fitness for this, if we have enough participants and drivers we will start a team from Western side of the mountain and both parties can do a cross over, failing that it will be a climb to the summit and return the same way.
If you would prefer something a bit more casual, we can drop those of you who would rather just relax and explore the township, beaches, and Cafes for the day. Of course, there will be an opportunity for those who wish to wine and dine in the town for the evening.
Sunday: We will head over and view the spectacular Waireinga / Bridal Veil Falls and take on the new Pipiwharauroa walking and cycle trail that takes us up and over rolling farmland and a metal road close to the wind turbine farm, it may be windy. 18 kilometers return 3 to 4 hours before heading back to Takapuna.

(i) $98 for a Bunk at the Holiday Park – 5 bunks remaining
(ii) $85 to sleep on the Bus at the Holiday Park – 3 spaces remaining

- Cancellations outside of 14 days of arrival (15 days or more) will incur a $20 cancellation fee per unit/site or 20% of the total booking, whichever is the lesser.
- Cancel within 14 days or less of arrival date will result in loss of the 1 night booking deposit paid.
