Flights to/from Queenstown
Base camp - Wanaka
As in recent years, there will be a Home Party (10-12 persons) who will sleep each night at the base camp and carry out day walks, and three Out Parties of about 6 each. Routes currently under consideration include:-
- Wilkin-Young circuit; leaving from Makarora, walking along Young River, crossing Gillespie Pass, walking back along Wilkin River, with side trips to Crucible Lake and Lake Castalia
- Motatapu Track (Arrowtown to Wanaka, 3 days)
- West Matukituki River (French Ridge Hut)
- Lake Ohau - Ahuriri River - Lake Hawea (part of the Te Araroa Trail)
Planning is still in progress. Registration will probably open in April - watch this space.
