More tracks have recently re-opened after extensive track re-surfacing in the stunning heavily forested Huia area of the Waitakere Ranges, Karamatura Track, Donald McLean Track and Mt Donald McLean Tracks.

As most of these areas have been closed for a few years due to Kauri Dieback, many of our newer members will enjoy along with established club members getting into this area of the Waitak's.

There are also pretty streams along the way and nearer the start that should still be flowing after recent rain, including the very tall waterfall that flows from top ridge line.

The views from the top of Mt Donald McLean are pretty epic too!   Total altitude achieved upon completion is 551 metres.
