Tapapakanga Regional Park, South Auckland

A pleasant day is planned exploring the Miranda Bird Sanctuary, Tapakanga Regional Park and Waitawa Regional Park. Entry to the Bird Sanctuary is free, and donations welcome. Come and enjoy the coastal walks, the rolling farmland and the extensive views over the Firth of Thames.

Depart:

-        Depart Takapuna at 8am. Arrive Miranda Bird Sanctuary about 9.30am. Sanctuary walk takes about an hour. Additional half an hour to look at the information displays. The sanctuary is open 9am to 5pm. Entry is free. Donations welcome.

-        Depart Miranda about 11am. Arrive Tapapakanga Regional Park about 11.15am. Split into short and a longer distance parties & lunch at Tapapakanga.

-        Depart Tapapakanga about 2pm. Arrive at Waitawa Regional Park about 2.30pm. Short distance do the Kotare loop, Distance party do the Puweto loop.

-        Depart Waitawa about 4.30pm and arrive at Takapuna about 5.30pm.
