This walkway goes along the undulating forested crest of the Hakarimata Range, and at the highest point of 374 metres there is a great view out over the Waikato with Hamilton in the background. There’s also a summit tower for an even better view. Expect to be walking for 6–7 hours if you want to go the full distance.
Another party will do a shorter southern circuit, which includes the scenic Waterworks Track, the lookout and the Hakarimata Rail Trail.
