Public Open Day - Whangaparaoa Peninsula Low Tide

Making the most of the low tide at 10.11am, join us for a visually stunning foreshore tramp, with absolutely fascinating geological rock formations nearer the point.  Then we'll spend some time exploring the Shakespear Regional Park. We'll be walking across, rocks and sand for most of the tramp, so please be aware that there will be slippery surfaces, then up over the hills after.  

Newbie's please contact the organiser to register your interest to attend.
Please consult the list at the top of the page "things to bring" and ensure you have ample food and water and expect to walk about 4-5 hours, depending on which group speed you are placed with.
**  Treaded old running shoes, maybe advisable as we'll have fun hiking low tide across the rocks and then one extremely short, few metre, shin/knee deep wade between rocks.   **
We will meet at the Army Bay beach carpark, Whangaparaoa Rd, on the left before Bruce Harvey Drive.

The views on this tramp never disappoint, so bring a camera or your phone. (Please be respective of the seabirds, as they may be commencing nesting).
