Okura Walkway to Stillwater return - WINTER OPEN DAY!!

  • 9 Jul 2017
  • 9:00 AM
  • Haigh Access Road, Redvale

As many of you will be aware the Okura Walkway was closed for a while and re-opened a few months ago with some cool new boardwalks to protect the Kauri roots. Once we reach the Karepiro Beach area, you’ll spot Oyster Catchers and Dotterels foraging.  Bring your camera to capture the views especially from the cliffs above the historic old farm house, Dacre Cottage and the shell banks are stunning.

Newbie's please contact the organiser to register your interest to attend.
Please consult the list at the top of the page "things to bring" and ensure you have ample food and water and expect to walk 4-5 hours depending on which group speed you are placed with.   Solid walking shoes or tramping boots maybe preferable as there maybe muddy & slippery patches on the track.

We will meet at the end of Haigh Access Road, Redvale, at the end of the turning head, where the parking ceases.
Depart: 9.00am (NO BUS THIS WEEK)       Organiser: Imogen
Cost: Free to all                                             Mobile: 027 289-8440  (No texts please!)
