DESCRIPTION:https://www.nstc.org.nz/event-2662139\n\nThis trip is fully booked but waitlist registrations are being accepted.\n\n  Join us for a trip to The Barrier with lots of birds\, native bush and marine wildlife! As charter boats and huts are about to book out we need to make a decision very soon.\n  Indicative trip plan\n  Details to follow once we know how many people are on board for each:\n\n      * All parties go to Great Barrier on the Friday morning with a charter boat from Auckland (2 1/2 hr trip) to Tryphena. Return trip departing from Tryphena Monday 4pm\n\n        * The home party\n\n        *          * Will be staying in an accommodation with shared bunk rooms. This party will have a rental van to get around the island and pick up/drop off the out party. \n\n\n   \n\n        * Out Party "the campers"\n\n        *          *          Day 1 - boat to Tryphena\, transport to Okupu. Walk from Okupu to Whangaparapara (1 - 1.5 hrs). Camping. Option to walk up the road to the hot pools.\n       \n\n            *          Day 2 - Whangaparapara to Kairaara Hut (4 hrs)\n       \n\n            *          Day 3 - Kairaara Hut  to Mt Heale Hut (4 hrs). Lots of sidetracks if someone gets bored!\n       \n\n            * Day 4 - back out to Whangaparapara (3 - 3.5 hrs)\, pick-up to Tryphena\, boat back to Auckland.\n\n   \n\nCosts  Including ferry\, accommodation and a rental:\n      * Home Party - $365\n\n        * Out Party - $295\n\n  A deposit of $180 is required to confirm your booking\, and final payment is due by 20 February 2018.\n\n  Gear\n\n  We also recommend carrying food and drink as this is rather expensive on the island.\n  Booking\n  Register through the website or contact John Lamb at bookings@nstc.org.nz or ph 021 227 3614.\n  Organiser\n  Annika Werner - annika.aw.werner@icloud.com or ph 027 374 7469.
