DESCRIPTION:https://www.nstc.org.nz/event-2606891\n\n\n  Come and enjoy a new area for tramping. Mataia is on the Kaipara Harbour one hour north of Auckland. The walk is on a large 1600 ha private farm . The Mataia Restoration Project was started in 2000 and involved fencing off and retiring 400 ha of the farm. Intensive predator control as well as extensive replanting has seen flora and fauna thrive. North Island Brown Kiwi were released on the farm in 2012.\nWe will make a $10.00 donation to the Restoration Project for each tramper on the trip. We will join the weekend party.
