| GPS (Global Positioning System)
As much as an anathaema as GPS units can
be to the good old fashioned tramping fraternity they are becoming more popular as the
price decreases and technology improves. We have a page which will endeavour to provide a
bit of insight into the suitability of a GPS in the NZ tramping environment.
Special Note: It is good form to realise
that GPS units should not be considered replacements for a map & compass that can be
competently used.
